2 more lbs down
Well as of Sunday I was down to 200, but after a weekend of eating out and not exercising since the news of my Grandpa's passing, It's possible I've gained back some weight. I've decided it's OK to give myself the week off, if need be, I won't beat myself up or feel guilty if I don't exercise. I'm still keeping up with the "diet" mostly just eating less, not much of a diet but I don't want to deprive myself of anything, otherwise I'll crave it and drive myself crazy! :) I purchased a bulk package of trident gum at Costco and have been chewing on that when ever the urge to snack consumes me.

Here we go!
I've decided to take a chapter from my S-I-L's book and start blogging about my own weight loss goals, achievements, set back, you name it and to hold me accountable for my calorie intake and my workouts. I joined Livestrong.com almost a year ago and hardly did anything with it, I recently got back on the website and for the last two weeks, I've tracked every single thing I've eaten and that is helping me realize, I'm eating too much too often and eating way too many calories in a day. So thanks to that, I've become more accountable for my eating habits and food intake, it's still not great, I need to sneak more fruits and veggies in there but it'll come with time. (I hope!) :)
So obviously it's my New Years resolution to lose weight and get back into my "skinny" jeans that have been taking up space in my closet for many years now. I almost hate to admit it, but I've been using Jillian Michaels, 30 day shred to work out to since the beginning of the month. I H-A-T-E gyms with a passion! I love to get out doors and workout though, So starting today (it was suppose to start last week) I've added jogging to my workout routine. I'm actually amazed at how much the video has upped my endurance, (and just within a couple weeks), I was able to jog much farther than I thought I would be able to. I went roughly a mile, half jogging, half walking, and I made it almost a 1/4 mile before having to switch to walking, it was so exhilarating! I was so proud of myself for getting out there and jogging and even more so that I went so far, when it's been ages since I've jogged. I continued jogging, walking, jogging, walking, .......well you get the picture and returned home for some much needed stretching!
My plan is to work out Monday-Saturday for at least 20 minutes or more each day. Mon, Weds, Fri, I will be doing the 30 day shred and Tues, Thurs, Sat, I will be jogging! And now, the thing I really hate to admit! I weigh more than my hubby, not by much but still it's upsetting to me to weigh more than he does! luckily for me, I hold my weight quiet well. (I just don't picture well!) The heaviest I've ever been is ....210 (bleh!) I was able to lose 5 pounds this last summer before our trip to San Diego, so I was down to 205, within the last two weeks I'm down to 202. not to shabby! My over all goal is to be back down to 150 pounds and back in my size 10 jeans! I'm hoping to reach that goal by the end of July, just in time for my 2nd wedding anniversary! but even if I'm a few pounds shy, I'll still be happy! I've lost the weight before, I can do it again!
I need to eat less, I need to pay attention to portion sizes and stop snacking on high calorie foods! I'm getting enough water but I need to substitute my "I'm hungry" with an "I'm thirsty" and shrink my stomach, so it doesn't want to eat so much! ;) and I'm hoping I can stick to my original plan/guidelines I had the first time I lost a bunch of weight.
-When I feel the urge to snack, drink water
- chew gum to resist the urge to snack
- no fast food
- no soda pop
- eat half of what I'd normally eat
-& exercise 4 or more times a week
I have confidence in myself that I can do this! I often wonder how it is I let myself go again, after working so hard the first time to lose weight, but I have to realize, I'm only human and as the saying goes "shit happens".
I'm doing this for so many reasons to but the main reasons are, I want to be a good role model to my daughter, and teach her the right ways to eat and to make exercise a regular habit, I don't want her to have to go through the same struggles of being over weight that I've gone through in my life and I want tons more energy to play with her. I want to feel more attractive, (I won't lie, I think I'm pretty damn cute! call me cocky or confident, either way, it's true!) ;) I want to be more attractive for my husband (who by the way, thinks I'm sexy, no matter what! Man I love him!) all in all, I just want to feel great about myself. (that's not to say I don't like myself, I love myself, you can't love others unless you love yourself.) OK, well I've blabbed enough. I'll try to keep weekly updates, maybe more maybe less, but there will definitely be updates! ;)
